As you read this news flash, we will be in the midst of electing the councilors who will be the support team for Sr. Anna Caiazza, our newly-elected Superior General.
But first we want to make cyberspace resound with our profound thanks to Sr. Anna Maria Parenzan, the outgoing Superior General, and the councilors who assisted her over the past six years.
Sr. Anna Maria accompanied us up to this moment like a sister with the heart of a mother, with attention and concern for everyone and everything: the small shoots to be nurtured and important works to be advanced; our young sisters with all their enthusiasm and our elderly, bedridden sisters with all their spiritual vitality; the sisters bent by fatigue but who nevertheless continue to hasten forward to experience the new. We know that Sr. Anna Maria carried in her heart and laid at the feet of the Divine Master everything in our Congregation that released even the smallest breath. And the same was true of her general councilors–attentive and generous sisters who made their closeness to us felt repeatedly and in unexpected ways.
These few paragraphs are not just an expression of our gratitude. They are a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU! shared by all the Daughters of St. Paul throughout the world, which we voice on their behalf. It is a thanks that will certainly serve as a bridge between what God has constructed up to today and what he will continue to construct in our Congregation.
