In the Heart of the World / 1
What can we say about today? It is hard to find a few but intense words to recount it. We could tell you that today we began an extraordinary journey that took us to every latitude of the world. Its continents and many countries ranging from north to south and east to west of the globe opened their doors to us and enchanted us with their colors, faces and languages…. But it would not be enough to say just this. At least not for us.
Throughout the day, a representative of every Pauline reality in the world (what we call our circumscriptions, some of which are composed of more than one country) presented to the assembly the challenges, dream, presences, journeys and apostolic developments of the reality from which she comes. Today we listened to and discovered 14 of these.
Different and sometimes conflicting emotions, one after another, bombarded our hearts. The effervescent joy provoked by situations of expansion due to a strong presence of young sisters alternated with apprehension and concern for realities rendered difficult due to age, illness or problems of various kinds. We feel that this “trip” is taking us to the heart of the world to perceive its cry, its needs, its yearnings, its fears.
We also feel that this world, this humanity characterized by infinite differences, sufferings and wounds, is entreating us to be not spectators but builders, collaborators with its future. It is urging us to be ready, alert, capable of investing all our dreams and energies in proposing new styles of life, communion, sharing and poverty by means of bold apostolic choices and the witness of communities able to build fraternity in the meeting of different cultures and in the integration of generations separated by wide age gaps.
All of this is jostling around inside us today. The world around us asks for our commitment to biblical formation, a deepening of the Faith, human and social formation, synergy with the Church, new forms of collaboration to be invented through our apostolic creativity, the laity to be formed in the Pauline spirituality and….
And for today, STOP! Tomorrow: new departures, new countries. We are waiting for you! #staytune #capitolo_ON #restiamoconnessi
